Jenna Elfmanis joining a new show on Fox — but that won't necessarily affect her tenure on ABC'sShifting Gears.
After being announced as a cast member on the upcoming seriesThe Interrogator, ElfmantoldUshow her new gig will impact her ability to portray Eve Drake, the love interest toTim Allen's Matt Parker, on the hitABCsitcom.
"I can go play onShifting Gears," Elfman said at the Fox Upfronts on Monday.
The Interrogatorwill seeStephen Fryportray an MI6 agent whose "charm, superior intellect and mind-bending behavioral maneuvers make him the only man able to lockpick the minds of the world's most dangerous criminals," according to the official logline for the series.
During her conversation withUs, Elfman pitched bringing aShifting Gearscostar onto her new show as a special guest. "[Having Tim Allen on] would be very entertaining," she said. "He's very funny and I think Stephen interrogating Tim Allen [would be cool]."
Elfman's last appearance onShifting Gearscame in the season 2 finale in February, in which Eve invited Matt to join her in her travels to Barcelona. The series' showrunner Michelle Nader said that she still has big plans for Elfman's character in future episodes of the show.
"I promise you there will be more Jenna Elfman [on the show] as long as I'm alive," shetold The Wrapin February. "Jenna, she's so magical on and off the screen."

Nader explained that she wanted to give Allen the opportunity to date on screen, but also didn't want to brush past his character's grief for his wife, who died prior to the events of the show.
"The idea of watching Tim Allen dating on a sitcom, you've never seen that. This is his third sitcom," she reflected. "I really believe that Matt loved his wife, and it's hard for him to start something with another and to be in love. So we really wanted some time to pass and really make this a mature decision. That's why we did this back and forth."
Elfman, who appeared in three episodes of season 1 and seven episodes of season 2, previouslytoldUsabout her enthusiasm forShifting Gears.

"I'm loving doing the show. I love working with everybody on it. I love the showrunner. It genuinely is like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop because I can't believe how good it is," she said. "I have to say I'm blown away by the writing this year. They're writing for each actor and for their character so well. The stories are sincerely hilarious. Like, at work, we're all doubled over laughing repeatedly."
Season 3 ofShifting Gearswill premiere on ABC in 2027.
