It will be the 10th time that the venue has hosted the event, three times more than any other club. It will also be the first time the event has returned to Oakmont since 2016. The U.S. Open is scheduled to be back at the venue in 2033, 2042 and 2049. Henry Clay Fownes designed the course at the Oakmont Country Club intending to challenge the sport's best.
