Key Points
-
Aya Cash returns in a first look at Stormfront, only here she goes by her real name Clara Vought.
-
The preview also teases the roles of the supporting cast. (Was that a Frederick Vought sighting?)
Stormfront is back, even if she doesn't go by that name in this particular timeline of the Vought Cinematic Universe.
The firstVought Risingteaser arrived online TK, revealing the first look at Aya Cash back as Clara Vought, the Nazi wife of Frederick Vought, the founder of the Vought supe empire featured onThe Boys. In the canon of the TV franchise, Clara was the first subject to be injected with V1, the original superpower-inducing serum that predates Compound V.
"There is a brighter future," Clara tells Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) in the teaser through a thick German accent. "All we need to do is take it."
Cash first appeared as Clara onThe Boysseason 2. With the powers of flight and plasma blasts from her hands, she first branded herself as the supe Liberty before she went off the grid and re-emerged decades later as Stormfront.
Cash and Ackles headlineVought Rising, set in 1950s New York City at the dawn of the superhero age. Showrun by Paul Grellong, the prequel is described as a murder-mystery. It's "L.A. Confidentialwith superheroes," Eric Kripke, the executive producer of the VCU, previously toldEntertainment Weekly. "Maybe grimier. Probably, definitely grimier."
The footage gives us new looks at Vought's original team of supes, which includes Bombsight (Mason Dye), Torpedo (Will Hochman), and Private Angel (Elizabeth Posey).Dye first portrayed his character, a smack-addicted supe with impenetrable skin, onThe Boys' final season. KiKi Layne, Jorden Myrie, Nicolo Pasetti, Elizabeth Posey, Ricky Staffieri, and Brian J. Smith will also star.

Character details, for the most part, remain under wraps. Based on the new footage, however, Myrie appears to be playing one of (if not the) first Black test subjects injected with V1. Smith, meanwhile, presents as a detective. Though it's not confirmed, given Pasetti's bespectacled look and close proximity to Clara in the footage, we wouldn't be surprised if the actor is playing Frederick Vought himself.

The series will also present Soldier Boy when he first went by Ben. While his supe peers were hand-selected for Vought's experiments, "Soldier Boy was the only one who bought his way into the program as a rich kid, I don't think really understanding how dangerous it was at the time," Kripke told EW. "So everyone hated him. Even when you meet the other heroes inVought Rising, they're all pretty much rolling their eyes at this rich boy."
As for Clara, "In no way will I ever ask the audience to sympathize with Stormfront. She’s a Nazi, and she sucks,” Kripke said in an interview withScreenRant. “Soldier Boy? I think, if [The Boysis] teasing anything, it’s teasing that he really had feelings for Clara more than he had originally let on, and that you’ll see a lot of that play out inVought Rising. You’ll understand a little bit more of what Soldier Boy and Bombsight’s relationship is, and why they resent each other, inVought Rising.”
Vought Risingwrapped filming earlier this year and will premiere on Amazon's Prime Video streaming platform some time in 2027. Here's what we learned about the seriesfrom the events ofThe Boysseason 5.
