It's been a few years sinceDanielle FishelandSabrina Carpenterlast graced the screen together in Disney'sGirl Meets World, but the two have maintained their bond off-screen.
Fishel, 44, praised the pop star as her "go-to" person when looking for feedback during her interview for PEOPLE in 10.
"Sabrina gives me great advice," Fishel said. "For being significantly younger than me, she is one of my go-to people to ask for advice because she's got great instincts. She knows how to trust them, and I admire that so much because I'm a person who's talked myself out of my instincts over the years."
"So, whenever I really need to be reminded that I probably know the answer to the question, I go to her. She's like, 'I think you probably already know this,' " she added. "She's a real special one."
However, when Fishel has tried to give Carpenter, 26, advice, the singer hasn't always listened.
During an episode of Fishel'sPod Meets Worldpodcast, Fishel recalled that when Carpenter released her 2022 album,Emails I Can't Send, she advised her against one of the songs on the tracklist.
"Her instinct cannot be beat," Fishel said. "I thought it wasn't relatable enough, and she politely told me I was wrong."
"This past November, as I heard 20,000 fans in theCrypto.comArena sing every word to that exact song right along with her, I knew she was right. She's always right," she added about seeing Carpenter on tour in 2024.
Fishel reprised herBoy Meets Worldrole as Topanga for the sequel TV show,Girl Meets World, from 2014 to 2017. While her character was still married to Cory (Ben Savage), the series centered around their studious daughter, Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard), and her rebellious best friend, Maya Hart (Carpenter), as they navigated growing up.
