Liza Minnelli, 80, Unexpectedly Cancels Live Appearance Citing 'Doctor's Orders'

Liza Minnelliwill be rescheduling her New York City event that was supposed to take place on Monday, March 23.

The legendary actress and Broadway star was previously scheduled to make a live appearance for a one-night only NYC event to discuss her recently released memoir,Kids, Wait Till You Hear This!—but she announced onFridaythat she has to cancel the event due to illness.

"Hey Kids, Doctor Piro's orders, I'm sitting Monday out," Minnelli announced to her fans viaInstagramon Friday evening, while telling those who were supposed to come to the show, "I'm so sorry."

"Nothing serious, I promise," the 80-year-old icon assured her fans, noting that she has some "damn bug that's going around."

She also promised her fans that she would be rescheduling the event, encouraging them to "stay tuned" for more updates.

"Our show always goes on. XO," she concluded.

Minnelli, along with her longtime collaboratorMichael Feinstein, was supposed to appear at the Temple Emanu-El Streicker Cultural Center on Monday for an event titled "Stories, Songs, Resilience and All That Jazz," where she would chat about her life and career, as well as the stories chronicled in her new book.

But many of her fans on Instagram seemed to be fully understanding of her last minute cancellation, with tons of commenters telling Minnelli to take care of herself and "feel better soon."
